HyperFrames: From Editable Web to Repeatable Video

How explicit time connects web source, frame capture, and delivery

Overview

HyperFrames turns HTML, CSS, media, and browser animation into editable video by making composition timing explicit and frame state seekable. This series moves from markup and local time through deterministic capture, editing and validation, reusable variables, delivery formats, and local or cloud operations. It explains the boundary: repeatable frames and shared source depend on animations, media, assets, and environments that respect the runtime contract, followed by review of the exported file.

Learning outcomes
  • HyperFrames keeps web-authored source editable while making its visual state requestable frame by frame.
  • A valid render depends on explicit timing, seekable animation, settled assets, and one owner for media playback.
  • Variables can multiply reviewed designs, but changes to duration, viewport, format, or layout require structural review.
  • CLI, Producer, Engine, and cloud paths trade simplicity for control and operating responsibility, not for correctness.
  • Deterministic seeking does not guarantee identical pixels or provenance across machines; controlled conditions and review still matter.

FAQ

What is HyperFrames?

HyperFrames is an open-source framework that turns HTML, CSS, media, and browser animation into editable video by rendering seekable frame states. It keeps source close to output but requires explicit timing and runtime-compatible animation.

How does HyperFrames make video rendering repeatable?

It maps each requested frame to a fixed time, seeks the composition and supported animations, waits for readiness, then captures pixels before encoding. Repeatability still depends on stable source assets and controlled browser, font, codec, and host conditions.

Can one HyperFrames project produce many video versions?

Yes, declared variables can change approved content such as text, colors, logos, or choices while preserving layout and motion. Duration, viewport, format, and structural behavior remain outside that variation contract.

Which HyperFrames rendering path should you use?

Use the CLI for local or CI renders, Producer for an application-owned complete pipeline, and Engine for specialized capture or orchestration. Managed Cloud avoids infrastructure, while AWS or Google Cloud add account-level control and responsibility.

Does HyperFrames guarantee identical files on every machine?

No. It makes a fixed frame request map to authored state under the same conditions, but browser versions, fonts, codecs, GPU behavior, and host configuration can change pixels. Docker can pin some of those inputs.
